I miss the peace, anonymity and easiness of London where you can walk in with your headphones on and be left alone. There are certainly people who walk in shops wanting to chat or require help. But there are just as many who simply want a distraction or simply interested in the goods on offer and not to engage with anyone. That is just as much their right.
